Cultural Sensitivity
Both the Connections and Love U2® programs were developed in culturally diverse settings with a wide variety of young people. We know from practice and research, that our programs are sensitive to different cultures and effective with a wide range of teens.

Healthy Marriage
The Dibble Institute, a 501©3 non-profit publisher, is a leader in the field of youth marriage education. We have been helping teens learn how to navigate their romantic lives by developing research based, best practices, easy to teach and evaluated programs since 1996. Our programs are used in hundreds of schools, youth agencies, after school programs, foster care programs, juvenile justice systems, and faith communities.

Current evaluations show that the Connections and Love U2® programs equip participants for healthy relationships now and marriages in the long term with the latest in research-based knowledge and skills delivered in a teen-friendly manner.

Medical Accuracy
The Connections programs (Relationships & Marriage and Dating & Emotions) and the Love U2® units Relationship Smarts and Communication Smarts focus exclusively on relationship building through self-efficacy, understanding how relationships grow and develop over time, and communications skill development activities. None of these programs mentioned above contain medical information.

Love U2®: Baby Smarts – Through the Eyes of a Child does contain medical information. The information on contraceptives is medically accurate and includes information on the effectiveness or lack of effectives of various types of contraception.

Sustainability
The Dibble Institute is pleased to help you in your efforts to become sustainable. Please contact Kay Reed at The Dibble Institute directly (kayreed@dibbleinstitute.org or 510-528-7975). We can also provide training and technical assistance to assure the successful implementation of our programs. If you wish, we can link you up with a Healthy Marriage Coalition in your area.

Evaluation
The Connections and Love U2® programs have undergone several small evaluations. The results may be found at www.BuildingRelationshipSkills.org (go to each program’s home page). In 2006, Auburn University began a 5 year $1 million federal study of the Love U2® curriculum. In 2007, Harvard University will begin an evaluation of Connections: Relationships and Marriage. We are happy to share our evaluation instruments with you and consult with your evaluation team.
